Lemons, vitamins c, vitamin c powder, vitamin c foods, vitamin c tablets, natural vitamin cImage by comingstobrazil via Flickr

We all know that there are a lot and I mean a lot of vitamins that every one needs every single day of our lives for our body to function correctly and properly of course.

And I guess one of the most popular most needed is vitamin C. There are so many stuffs around there that could give you your daily dose of Vitamin C, but I still think that the best way is to have a well balanced diet, a diet that has foods like citrus fruits, green leafy vegetables, potatoes, milk, fish tomatoes; A well balanced meal has to have all the major vitamins on it. Vitamin C is also known as Ascorbic acid, There are times that we are worried that we are not getting enough amounts of vitamin c naturally in our food, then you could ask your doctor,

he could recommend some Vitamin C supplement that is suitable to your body , I mean the enough dosage or proper levels of vitamin C that should be taken for you. Ascorbic Acid or Vitamin c is one of the 13 vitamins that our body needs. This vitamin is not fat-soluble, Thus our body cannot store it, so you have to consumed it everyday, Now the vitamin levels and dosages depends on your age, gender, weight, lifestyle, pregnant or not. So you really have to consult your doctor to know the perfect dosage for you.

What does vitamin C do? Basically , vitamin C is an antioxidant, which means that it battles the forces in our body that can cause organ, tissue, and cell damage. Therefore, vitamin C protects the body and may specifically be linked to reducing the signs of aging. If you do not have enough vitamin C in your body, you will develop scurvy. Scurvy is very uncommon in the United States, but can cause anemia, gum disease, skin hemorrhages, and weakness.

When you begin taking vitamin C supplements, make sure that you follow your doctor’s recommendations. If you take to much vitamin C, you can overdose, just as you would with a typical drug. This is rare, because vitamin C is water soluble and high amounts will leave the body at a normal rate, but when it does happen, it can cause kidney stones and interfere with vitamin B12 absorption, causing anemia. Diarrhea is also a side effect. Therefore, it is best to listen to you doctor’s recommendation.

In most cases, you will automatically get enough vitamin C in your foods, especially if you are eating a healthy diet. If you are not and your doctor tells you to begin taking vitamin C supplements, look carefully at the labels of different brands before you buy anything. Because vitamin supplements are classified as foods and not drugs, they are not regulated by the government and each brand’s potency will vary slightly from the next.

The best natural skin care, Is free.

Best and cheapest skin care, Actually it's not cheap it's free.. 5 years ago, I'm one of those women that was so vain when it comes to skin, I had my beauty rituals, i took food supplements, i applied so many stuffs on my face. And yes. It's all worth it.

But now that I'm one of the busiest mom in the world, I must say, i have so little time for myself. But i make sure that I'm still healthy and pretty. We're not getting any younger right?.

There are 6 skin care essentials that many of us WAHM just take for granted. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my super duper cool Dermatologist, Dr. Salonga, Who takes care of my skin and hair too, Who never forget to remind of these 6 things:

1.Eat a lot of fruits and veggies.

2.Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.

3.Avoid fatty foods.

4.Get enough sleep.(When sleeping, try not to sleep face down)

5.Wash your face before you go to bed. Don't try to sleep with your make up on. Why? Believe me, you'll see zit city very very soon.

6.Finally. Moisturize and block. try to use a moisturizer that suits your skin. And apply sun block when you know you'll be staying longer under the sun, remember, our skin still needs sunlight.SO don't SPF yourself too much.

Yes, I know you might be saying these are very common, But the best skin care products would never be better if followed by these skin care essentials.

Are "natural" weight-loss aids safe?

{{en}}Green tea leaves steeping in an uncovere...Image via Wikipedia You've heard and seen their benefits extolled on infomercials- from "lose 30 pounds in 30 days" promises to miraculous before-and-after photos and they're sold everywhere, from your local drug store to the internet.

But just because these dietary weight-loss supplements claim to be made with herbs and other naturally-occurring ingredients doesn't mean you can take them without worry, "Dietary-supplement companies aren't required to show clinical data on their efficacy and safety to the FDA., which means we have no idea whether they work or if they're saf", says Michael Steelman. M.D. and Obesity specialist in Oklahoma City.

Take bitter orange extract, a substance that has replaced ephedra as an ingredient in many weight loss supplements( ephedra was banned 2004 after causing more than 16,000 adverse events, including several cases of stroke and death. What's more, bitter orange doesn't appear to help people lose weight, according to research review. And while there maybe some truth to the weight loss promises of hoodia, a cactus-like plant said to be used by African bushmen to stave off hunger, a lot of the products that claim to be made with hoodia don't actually contain much or any at all, says Lona Sandon R.D. a spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association.

Hoodia's a protected plant, and many experts suspect that companies replaces some or all of it with another species of the same plant. Whether hoodia itself is harmless is still unclear. There are two supplements that may have some safe body fat -and weight-loss potential:
green tea extract and conjugated linolec acid (CLA) Green tea contains ECGC , an antioxidant that may help boost metabolism, according to some studies. CLA, found naturally in dairy, was shown to reduce body fat in one small study, though participants' weights stayed the same. But the amounts found in EGCG and CLA supplements vary and some may not be effective says George Blackburn, M.D., an Obesity specialist at Harvard Medical school. Instead He suggests getting these compounds through food, whether by including green tea at breakfast or by adding an extra glass of skim milk to your daily diet.

Now you can ask yourself are "natural" weight-loss aids safe? think again.
