I'm just a little upset these days because so I just wanted to post this, I really don't know what to do because my page rank dropped from 2 to 0. I really don't know why. I don't remember anything that may hurt my page rank. I just post like the normal posting that i do.

I thought it was just like before, when google just upgrade or did something that's why most sites loses their page rank, and then it went back again after sometime or days. But I was surprised that it's been a month, and my blog still has zero page rank. I'm still searching for the answer to my question, hope if could get as soon as possible so I can save my blog. I really hope that it will go back very very soon.

The Importance of Vitamin C

Lemons, vitamins c, vitamin c powder, vitamin c foods, vitamin c tablets, natural vitamin cImage by comingstobrazil via Flickr

We all know that there are a lot and I mean a lot of vitamins that every one needs every single day of our lives for our body to function correctly and properly of course.

And I guess one of the most popular most needed is vitamin C. There are so many stuffs around there that could give you your daily dose of Vitamin C, but I still think that the best way is to have a well balanced diet, a diet that has foods like citrus fruits, green leafy vegetables, potatoes, milk, fish tomatoes; A well balanced meal has to have all the major vitamins on it. Vitamin C is also known as Ascorbic acid, There are times that we are worried that we are not getting enough amounts of vitamin c naturally in our food, then you could ask your doctor,

he could recommend some Vitamin C supplement that is suitable to your body , I mean the enough dosage or proper levels of vitamin C that should be taken for you. Ascorbic Acid or Vitamin c is one of the 13 vitamins that our body needs. This vitamin is not fat-soluble, Thus our body cannot store it, so you have to consumed it everyday, Now the vitamin levels and dosages depends on your age, gender, weight, lifestyle, pregnant or not. So you really have to consult your doctor to know the perfect dosage for you.

What does vitamin C do? Basically , vitamin C is an antioxidant, which means that it battles the forces in our body that can cause organ, tissue, and cell damage. Therefore, vitamin C protects the body and may specifically be linked to reducing the signs of aging. If you do not have enough vitamin C in your body, you will develop scurvy. Scurvy is very uncommon in the United States, but can cause anemia, gum disease, skin hemorrhages, and weakness.

When you begin taking vitamin C supplements, make sure that you follow your doctor’s recommendations. If you take to much vitamin C, you can overdose, just as you would with a typical drug. This is rare, because vitamin C is water soluble and high amounts will leave the body at a normal rate, but when it does happen, it can cause kidney stones and interfere with vitamin B12 absorption, causing anemia. Diarrhea is also a side effect. Therefore, it is best to listen to you doctor’s recommendation.

In most cases, you will automatically get enough vitamin C in your foods, especially if you are eating a healthy diet. If you are not and your doctor tells you to begin taking vitamin C supplements, look carefully at the labels of different brands before you buy anything. Because vitamin supplements are classified as foods and not drugs, they are not regulated by the government and each brand’s potency will vary slightly from the next.

Toddlers who uses gestures, are smarter in the future?

I came across this latest news and I wanted to share it to all of you. I have an 11-month old baby boy now and thought that this news would benefit mommies like me, read on:

Toddlers who use gestures more often have better vocabularies on reaching school age, US researchers say.

They say those who convey more meanings with gestures at 14 months have larger vocabularies at four-and-a-half years and are better prepared for school.

Parents and teachers could help children learn to speak by encouraging the use of gestures, say psychologists from the University of Chicago.

Their study, in Science journal, was announced at the AAAS conference.

'Hand-in-hand'

The researchers found that children from higher-income families with well-educated parents used more gestures as toddlers.

They also had higher vocabularies at school age.

"Our findings contradict the folklore," said Prof Susan Goldin-Meadow, co-author on the study.

"Your grandma always told you - if you're really articulate you shouldn't have to use your hands at all.

"That's typically what the upper class believes about itself.

"But our findings were surprising - we actually found extra gesturing in these high socio-economic status [SES] families.

"Gesture and speech go hand-in-hand.

"That's interesting and we need to explore what's happening here.

"Vocabulary is a key predictor of school success and is a primary reason why children from low-income families enter school at a greater risk of failure than their peers from advantaged families."

Pointing the way

Psychologists have long stated that families of higher income and education levels talk more with their children and speak to them in complex sentences.

But the study is one of the first to focus on whether gestures, too, have an influence on vocabulary and school preparedness.

The researchers studied 50 families from diverse economic backgrounds.

They recorded video of children with their parent, or primary caregiver, for 90-minute sessions, during ordinary home activities.

Fourteen-month-old children from high-income, well-educated families used gesture to convey an average of 24 different meanings during the 90-minute session.

Meanwhile, children from lower-income families conveyed only 13.

Once in school, students from higher-income families had a comprehension vocabulary of 117 (as measured by a standardised test), compared to 93 for children from lower-income families.

The paper does not establish a causal link between early child gesture and later child vocabulary.

But the authors suggested two possible mechanisms by which one might encourage the other.

"Child gesture could play an indirect role in word learning by eliciting timely speech from parents; for example, in response to her child's point at the doll, mother might say, 'Yes, that's a doll,' thus providing a word for the object that is the focus of the child's attention," they wrote.

The connection also may be more direct, since gestures allow children to use their hands to express meanings when they have difficulty forming words for them.

The 7 medical myths that my mom still believes.

This is so 2007, but I still often tell this to my friends and families. These myths are often hard to remove from their beliefs so I guess I have to re post it again for the benefits of many who may have forgotten it... again.

This research was conducted a year and a half ago by Aaron Carrol, an assistant professor of pediatrics at the Regenstrief Institue, Indianapolis and Rachel Vreeman, fellow in children's health services reserach at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Despite frequent mentions in the popular press of the need to drink eight glass of water, they found no scientific basis for the claim. The complete lack of evidence has been in a study published the American Journal of Psychology, they said. The other six myths are:

Reading in dim lights ruins your eyesight- The majority of eye experts believe it is unlikely to do any permanent damage, but it make you squint, blink more and have trouble focusing, the researchers said.

Shaving makes hair grow back faster or coarser- It has no effect on the thickness or rate of hair regrowth, studies say. But stubble lacks the finer taper of unshaven hair, giving the impression.

Eating turkey makes you drowsy. It does contain Amino acid called tryptophan that is involved in sleep and mood control. But turkey has no more of the acid than chicken and minced beef. Eating lots of food and drink at Christmas are probably the real cause of sleepiness.

We use only 10 percent of our brains. This myth arose as early 1907 but imaging shows no area of the brain is silent or completely inactive.

Hair and fingernails continue to grow after death(mom, read this)- This idea may stem from ghoulish novels. The researchers said the skin dries out and retracts after death, giving the appearance of longer hair and nails.

Mobile phones are dangerous in hospitals- despite widespread concerns, studies have found minimal interference with medical equipment.

Vicks May Causes Severe Respiratory Problems in Children.

Image of a container of Vicks VapoRubImage via WikipediaI got this news that surprised me a bit, and i just wanted to share this to everyone. Because in my country Vicks VapoRub is very very popular. So you may want to read on.

A new study conducted at Wake Forest University and published in the medical journal Chest warns parents that using Vicks VapoRub on children or infants may cause them to develop severe respiratory problems.

In tests conducted on ferrets (who apparently have breathing organs very similar to humans), researchers found that Vicks VapoRub increased mucous production by 59 percent and reduced the ability to clear mucous by 36 percent. In other words, the VapoRub worsened the very condition it is usually thought to help alleviate (the clearing of a stuffy nose or head).

There is currently no scientific evidence to show that Vicks VapoRub has any benefits whatsoever. It is not unusual for over-the-counter medicines to actually worsen the very conditions they claim to treat. Many medicines purchased by mainstream health consumers only have benefits in the imaginations of those who use them.

For example, over-the-counter medicines for children have been under increasing scrutiny in the past year, as studies have revealed that popular cough syrup medicines sold for use in infants and children have absolutely zero beneficial effects and, in fact, may be harmful to children.

NaturalNews is against the use of animals for medical experiments. Even ferrets.

Women's health: 3 significant things, women should know

There are things in every women's life that we just took for granted, not knowing the risk that are waiting for us. To all the ladies please read and it might be a big help to you.

  • Tight and thin bra straps cause headaches. According to doctors at the University of Texas in Dallas, a tight strap that digs into your shoulder can put hard pressure on the cervical nerve that is from your back to your shoulder. The result can be frequent headaches, neck pain or numbness. Now it can cause pain that radiates all the way from your shoulders to your hands. So if i were you, let your bra size properly measured. Throw away bras with skinny straps that dig in to your skin.

  • Killer heals is bad for your health. If high heels are worn too often, It can cause painful bunions, calluses and corns- and it's not just the feet that suffer. High heels can affect your posture, putting stress on the spine, resulting in back problems. Long periods of wearing high heels can shorten calf muscles. This may lead you to back, hip and knee difficulties.

  • It's essential for women to drink safely. " Women's bodies contain less water and more body fat, Which means alcohol reaches the liver more quickly and in higher concentrations than in men. We not only get drunk more quickly, but are also vulnerable in long-term damage to our heart, liver, pancreas and nervous system" explains Dr. Sarah Jarvis. "Hormones play a role too Women become even more vulnerable to the effects of alcohol around their period" she adds.Drink safely no more than two to three units a day(one unit equals to ten milliliters), no more than 14 units a week, with a few alcohol-free days. And be sure to have food when drinking. "Everyone underestimates how much they drink, so be totally honest- or your just fooling yourself," says Dr. Jarvis" More than six units in one sitting counts as binge drinking, which in the short term doubles your risk of strokes.
We thought the simple things in our life doesn't really matter, well it does now.
