We are a big group practice. There are three single handed GPs within the area as well. We don’t routinely take their patients and they don’t routinely take ours. It is because the patients who try to change practices are usually heart-sink, difficult people who are trying to move because their doctor will not do as they want."
So you can register with any GP, but just try changing - you'll be labelled heart sink before you can say free choice. Little wonder there has been so little progress in efficient exchange of records between GPs.
