'Do you believe that you will always be able to run out to Wal-Mart or to the local supermarket and buy massive amounts of inexpensive food? If so, you might want to think again. During 2010, agricultural commodity prices have absolutely exploded. Nearly every single important agricultural commodity has seen a double digit percentage price increase. In fact, the S&P GSCI Agriculture Index recently surged to a fresh two year high. Now food producers and retailers are starting to pass those commodity price increases on to consumers. Today when I went to the supermarket I was absolutely startled by some of the price increases that I witnessed.
However,the author does a dismal job of informing us as to the REAL underlying causes of food inflation. To trot out the usual suspects for global food inflation is well, absurd. The food market like the housing market is a manipulated market. In case you didn't know, food is a commodity that investors speculate on.
It's been documented that food speculators have indeed created a "food bubble." The significantly higher cost of food is a key indicator that the "food bubble' is starting to burst. Sure weather is a collateral factor affecting the supply and demand of food. It is not however the primary factor --in this case. And the increasing population 'red herring' argument for food scarcity or the increasing cost of food is an idea plucked right out of the globalist play book.

In the mean time, try and avoid corporate supermarkets like Wal-Mart,who primarily sell GMO laden, heavily processed, industrial food. Instead look for local food sources that produce food sustainably and preferably are organic. Get to know and buy directly from the folks in your community who are dedicated to producing wholesome, Real Food. Join food co-ops and, of course, start your own veggie garden(it's never too late). Additionally, learn how to 'can' food safely and cook all your meals from scratch. Create a food pantry. Learn how to make your own herbal remedies..Eat Real Food and gradually eliminate most processed foods from your diet. You'll not only save money -- your health will improve immensely.
