A Gu-ey review & giveaway!

A while back, Scott @ Outside PR, offered me a Gu sampler pack to review. I never even knew Gu had so many products!

A few of the flavors really stuck out to me. Pineapple, Blueberry pomegranate, chocolate outrage, mint chocolate. My problem? I couldn't handle the consistency. I know some of you advised me to try washing it down with more water, or that I would just get used to it, but it was so thick I really couldn't handle it. I practically gagged. The flavors were great (I tried Pineapple & blueberry pomegranate), but the consistency was not for me.

Gu Chomps
GU CHOMPS Packets (Blueberry Pomegranat)-16 Packet(s)Pretty much a chewy version of the Gu products. Similar in texture to a gummy bear. I really liked these a lot on my training runs, but thought they were a little on the big side. My favorite flavor was blueberry pomegranate. My training partner loved them so much, they became her running fuel of choice.
Gu Brew
Electrolyte Brew Raspberry 910 grThe brews came in 2 different categories. Electrolyte brew, and recovery brew, which come in a powder pack to mix with water. I tried the electrolyte brew in raspberry and really liked the flavor. I felt like it kept me well hydrated throughout my run. I have yet to try my strawberry watermelon recovery brew, but plan on bringing it with me to new orleans. It contains protein and amino acids to help speed recovery.
