Busting Quackbusters and "Skeptics"

'Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at things, I, Tim Bolen, have become a primary information source about an organization that, for purposes of intentional misinformation, calls itself "the quackbusters."

I have OTHER NAMES  for them.  So do their victims.  Some of those names, but not most, can be used in polite company. 

Again, unfortunately, a current definition of who and what these people are, is not information that sits comfortably with most of my readers.  

Why?  

Because what I am about to tell you is not conversation for a family Sunday Dinner Table.

The audio tapes, and the video tapes, I link to, to make my case, so-to-speak, will make most people physically ill.  But they clearly identify, in strong graphic rendition, exactly what the psychological makeup of the current quackbuster operation actually is.

But, one must know the enemy.  Even if it's just to know their neck size for the noose, so to speak.'

New Zealand --WAKE UP! Food, illegal? Not in my back yard...

 

'Warrantless searches of houses and marae for food and seeds, even with guns, are coming to NZ soon thanks to the Food Bill – unless you do something.

'What is the Food Bill?
- A Government Bill introduced to Parliament in May 2010, which has since passed its first reading and been through a Select Committee review. It is awaiting a second reading as at 20 July. It may be enacted in the near future.

What are the problems with the Food Bill?

- It turns a human right (to grow food and share it) into a government-authorised privilege that can be revoked by the Governor-General.

- It makes it illegal to distribute “food” without authorisation, and it defines “food” in such a way that it includes nutrients, seeds, natural medicines, essential minerals and drinks (including water).'

New McCain Bill To Put FDA in Control of All Supplements!

'McCain’s bill is called The Dietary Supplement Safety Act (DSSA). It would repeal key sections of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA). DSHEA protects supplements if 1) they are food products that have been in the food supply and not chemically altered or 2) if they were sold as supplements prior to 1994, the year that DSHEA was passed. If a supplement fits one of these two descriptions, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cannot arbitrarily ban it or reclassify it as a drug.

These protections are far from perfect. They discourage companies from developing new forms of supplements. New supplements may be arbitrarily banned by the FDA or adopted by drug companies in a way that precludes their further sale as supplements.

McCain’s bill would wipe out even the minimal protections contained in DSHEA. It would give the FDA full discretion and power to compile a discreet list of supplements allowed to remain on the market while banning all others.'
