Radiation Cruelty in Hospitals

 

'Modifying physician behavior is hard thing to do but we have to do it and do it now in the radiation departments. How doctors and hospitals relate to and use radiation in both diagnosis and treatment of disease needs to come under full review and in most cases be brought to a halt.

Radiation at extremely low levels is a health hazard that
medicine is not dealing with as shown by its use of dangerous
levels of radiation in both its diagnosis and treatment of disease.

We have talked earlier about evacuation as a prudent response to radiation exposure so as to avoid ever-higher levels of nuclear contamination. In this chapter we call for doctors to abandon the use of CAT scans and mammograms as well as a complete abandonment of the use of radiation in cancer therapy. Dentists also must abandon at a minimum their three-dimensional scans that expose their patients to unnecessary extra radiation.'

'The news is so bad this Sunday morning that I don’t know what to do or write. I could try screaming but I am not the type… or crying, well that comes almost too easily. Perhaps I am crazy. After all, Ann Coulter got on TV and actually said, “The only good news is that anyone exposed to excess radiation from the nuclear power plants is now probably much less likely to get cancer.” And Dr. Josef Oehmen, a research scientist at MIT, said, “I repeat, there was and will *not* be any significant release of radioactivity from the damaged Japanese reactors.”

I wrote some pretty crass words the other day to begin an essay:

Avoiding exposure and radiation-induced diseases might come down to, I am terribly sorry to say, running for our lives. Anyone who cannot accept this is the reality millions of Japanese face is probably not worth saving so let them consume all the milk and unwashed leafy vegetables they can.

I got two probably well-deserved complaints about it. I allowed myself the expression as my first lines in a terrible document about the worsening situation in Japan and I could feel my anger building about the insensitivity of our world civilization and its institutions.'

Betraying Humanity

“I think there is a role for safe nuclear power,” says Dr. David J. Brenner directs the Center for Radiological Research. He is the expert brought out by the New York Times to confuse everyone. Is there really such a thing as safe nuclear power? How anyone can say that after this latest nuclear accident is beyond comprehension.

Brenner knows that radiation kills people and has even calculated how many people a year the United States Government is killing with their airport radiation scanners. He calculates 100 people die and has testified before Congress about this danger and harm.

The Times tells us that he has published research showing that CT scans increase the cancer risk in children. Dr. Brenner believes, as all true blue scientists do, that even low doses increase the risk of cancer, and that there is no “safe” level or threshold below which the risk does not rise. "But for all his concern about potential harm from radiation, he does not foresee a public health disaster resulting from the crisis at Fukushima Daiich," the Times had the audacity to print.
