Am I Getting what I want?

Do you remember this post?

I said I was standing my ground. I had my goals, my plan & my progress tracking detailed. I felt motivated! I felt strong & tough!

PLAN
1. Follow my training plan for workouts. NO EXCUSES
2. Clean eating, no sugar ~85% of the time. Limit alcohol to special occasions only.
3. Do my Hypnosis daily
4. Go to bed on time
5. Work less weekends

Big Question...
Am I getting what I want?
The answer is No.

Workouts have not been going as planned, due to breaking #4. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control, my sleep was stolen away from me, which left me cranky, hungry, and lazy. I started feeling puffy and gross again.

Oh.. and theres only 9 weeks left until Pumpkinman 70.3! Whoops!

Sunday I had a day to recharge at the Beach with Kevin. We needed it badly. We packed the cooler, sprayed on the sunscreen, and soaked in the sun. I got to read some fitness, SELF, and Shape magazines that have been backlogging in my living room. Carrie Underwood talked about tracking food on an App called Livestrong, which rewards you with giftcards for tracking food, weight, and exercise. I downloaded it and I'm hooked!

I also found a pin on pintrest about cleaning your house for 15 minutes a day to make it more manageable. I'm really excited about it, and had my first successful day yesterday which included vacuuming and picking up some clutter.

This week I'm focusing on tracking food and getting my workouts in (as well as a clean house)! I've also decided I need to get back to posting my weekly training recap and some motivational posts.

What do you miss about my postings?
How often do you clean your house?
Do you use an App to track your food?

Your Questions answered! part 1

A while back, I was tagged in the Q & A game, and begged you guys to ask me questions!

Stephanie!

Favorite time of year?
Definitely summer! I love all things that go along with summer. Beach trips, vacation, corn on the cob, more outdoor exercise, triathlons, sun tans, grilling, and sunshine!
Beach trip + Vacation = even better!

How do you fuel for a run? Before, during, after?
short runs, I may have half a luna bar or some almonds, but usually nothing. For long runs, I typically have a piece of organic whole wheat toast with organic peanut butter & banana, and some water. During my longs I use Honey Stinger pomegranate chews & waffles. After my long runs we always hit Panera to refuel with a breakfast sandwich & sometimes I'll make myself a protein smoothie at home.
Honey Stinger Organic Energy Chews, Pomegranate Passion Fruit, 1.8-Ounce Bags (Pack of 12)
What's one of your favorite blogs? Why?
My favorite has to be Beth @ Shut Up and Run, because literally I am laughing out loud every time I read her posts. She takes the common stuff of training, and the silly things that happen to her & always turns them into a hilarious story to tell! Adam @ The Boring Runner comes a close second for hilarious blog reading.

Erin @ See Mom Run Far asked...
What is your dream race?
GREAT question! I hadn't really thought about this one before, my "dream race" initially was the Disney Marathon, the reason I started running, but that dream is becoming a reality. My next dream would be Florida 70.3, which actually goes through parts of Disney too! I'm a ways off from a 70.3, but a girl can dream, right?

Which would you rather have, super endurance or super speed?
I think I would have to say super endurance. It would be awesome to run a ton of miles, or be able to complete iron distance triathlons without a problem.

What foods are your biggest temptations?
Definitely sweets. Ice cream, peanut butter cups, chocolate, YUM! I don't allow myself to keep things like that in the house, because I know I would cave. Instead if I am really dying for a bowl of ice cream,

we head to the shop down the street.

Tricia @ Endurance isn't only Physical asked...

Whats your favorite AND least favorite thing about blogging?

My favorite part has to be the support, and encouragement from all of my followers who push me to become a better runner/athlete then I ever though possible. I love to hear how I've inspired others, and learn about new products & gear. My least favorite is time time consumption. It takes time to write posts, read other blogs, work on giveaways, etc. Sometimes I wonder how other bloggers do it all!

Suzy @ Running on My Time asked...

What do you love about running? What do you not like?

I love how I feel when I'm finished, strong and accomplished. I love that its found me new friends and great experiences, and many more to come. I don't like the time it takes to finish a long run (zaps almost half my sunday), or waking up early to do it, but I'm a bad night time runner.

What is your favorite place to exercise?

Running through the streets of Longmeadow or Forest Park.

What is your favorite Race?

My favorite race I've done has to be the Rock N Roll Mardi Gras (Race Report HERE), but the triathlon I completed today came pretty close! If I had some friends doing the race with me, it definitely would have won!

Me & Shelley @ Rock N Roll Mardi Gras!

That's all for now! Look for part 2 soon!

Think Summer!

todays quote

"The key to body confidence is to concentrate on something positive about yourself instead of fixating on the flaws"

so show yourself some love today. Embrace what you love. Work to fix what you don't. Remember that a love your body attitude makes a difference in how you view your entire self.

Yesterday I did my run & finished my cupcake half marathon miles (recap to follow soon).  My back had been bothering me though, so I skipped lifting to get a good stretch in. This morning, sleep trumped my swim. Onward to tomorrow, I have a killer trainer ride planned, and am hoping to make up some strength training and Ab work from the week. Sunday is long run day.

Tonight = super relaxing. Sushi takeout, blog reading/writing, and a redbox movie. love it.

Thinking about summer vacay plans, we have a bunch of options, no decisions...
1. Use the "free" cruise we got at the timeshare hell
2. Go back to Mexico! we loved our time there.
3. Go on a different cruise and save the "free" one
4. Somewhere else in the Caribbean
5. Anyone else have any ideas?

We love to be active, but mostly lay around & relax by a pool or beach. There should be plenty of cocktails available nearby.

Also have been thinking about Hypnosis. A ton (like 6) coworkers of mine went to a hypnotist for weight loss a little while back, and they look freaking a-maze-ing. I am beyond jealous. Maybe a hypnotist would give me the willpower I need?
