Has Drug-Driven Medicine Become A Form of Human Sacrifice?

http://americandigest.org/sidelines/275000-medical-debt-5.jpg

'Benjamin Rush accurately foretold a grave possibility facing Americans today: namely, that the art and science of healing should be restricted to a select class of allopathic physicians, who have the sole legal right to recommend and administer medicines, and whose pharmacopeia excludes – as a matter of principle – all the healing foods, vitamins and herbs which have been used safely and effectively for countless millennia in the prevention and treatment of disease.

We have entered an era where medicine no longer bears any resemblance to the art and science of healing. The doctor no longer facilitates the body’s innate self-healing capabilities with time, care, good nutrition and special help from our plant allies. To the contrary, medicine has transmogrified into a business enterprise founded on the inherently nihilistic principles of pure, unbridled crony capitalism.'

Prescription For Manslaughter Trailer

Canadian Judge Rules SSRI Antidepressants Like Prozac Can Cause Children to Commit Murder

'The use of antidepressant and psychiatric drugs, particularly among children, is an extremely risky activity that could have fatal consequences for both the individuals that use them, as well as their friends and family. According to the National Post, a Canadian judge recently ruled that the extreme mind-altering effects of the antidepressant drug Prozac were in large part responsible for causing a 15-year-old boy to thrust a nine-inch kitchen knife into one of his closest friends.

Though the Winnipeg boy that committed the heinous crime had allegedly abused prescription drugs and "experimented" with cocaine long prior to the incident, he had never had a violent or aggressive personality about him, according to reports. It was only when he began taking Prozac, the very thing doctors had given him as a so-called "solution" to his previous illicit drug problems, that he began to rapidly go off the deep end.'

PET Scans: Proof That Depression Is a Chemical Imbalance or a Psychiatric Delusion?

 http://purposeconsultant.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/big-pharma.jpg

'According to pharmaceutical drug-based psychiatry, depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. In spite of decades of research, this has never been proven. Now though, we’re seeing claims from medical science that PET scans prove there is a physical basis for depression. Are those claims meaningful—or merely flummery designed to give an impression with no bearing on reality?'

Pay Attention: How Big Pharma Contrived the Great American Adderall Drought

 .

'When Jay V.'s pharmacist told him about the nationwide Adderall shortages last weekend, he reacted as any economically rational finance professional would, and attempted to bribe her. Whatever the cost, "it's cheaper than cocaine," his reasoning went. And even if it isn't, you can’t put a price on never having to go back to doing bumps in the work bathroom to get through late night deal committee meetings, can you?

Jay's pharmacist said she was reserving her supply for regular customers, but that the price had doubled and the clock was ticking. "They're down to one bottle,” Jay said, “and if I don't get them a prescription by the end of next week I forfeit my right to it." So long as he can tear himself away from one of the 16-hour days he cites as the reason he needs Adderall to begin with, he'll be fine. At least, for the next month or so…'

Diclofenac Deaths May Dwarf Vioxx Disaster: Health Agencies Helped It Happen

http://gaia-health.com/gaia-blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Diclofenac.jpg
'The world was shocked by the number of deaths caused Vioxx, but that number may be dwarfed by another NSAID, diclofenac. Vioxx was sold only by prescription. Diclofenac is sold both by prescription and over the counter.

The increased risk of heart attack from taking Vioxx is 45%, and the increased risk from diclofenac is 40%. Though the risk from diclofenac is slightly lower, over the counter sales have driven the number of doses taken enormously. Pulse, a publication for general practitioners in the UK, analyzed in January 2010 that the rise in over the counter sales was double the rate of the decrease in GP prescriptions. Therefore, heart attack deaths from diclofenac probably dwarf the Vioxx tragedy.

And our pharmaceutical regulating agencies have turned a blind eye to it, not even providing us with information to let us make rational decisions for ourselves.'

The Top 5 Similarities and Practices Between Big Tobacco and Big Pharma

http://a4cgr.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/fda-big-pharma-lies.jpg
'Tobacco companies and pharmaceutical companies share so many commonalities and industry practices, that it is quite difficult to deny their ideological similarities. Besides the fact that both have used medical doctors to push their products, here are 5 other examples.

1. They both keep harmful findings of their products from the public.

Manufacturers from both Big Tobacco (BT) and Big Pharma (BP) deny the presence of any danger in their products and even spend millions of dollars trying to discredit the research that points to problems.'

Million Hearts Initiative to Bring Half US Adults into Medical System

 http://www.newstaco.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/heartdisease.jpg

'The Million Hearts Initiative will not improve cardiovascular health. But that's just fine. It assures that people will be stuck on the medical system treadmill for the rest of their foreshortened lives.'

'According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, half of the adult population suffers from heart disease. Therefore, they've cooked up a niftily titled program, the Million Hearts Initiative and added a bunch of new acronyms for us to learn so that all those people can be brought into the medical system and start taking drugs.

The Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Donald M. Berwick, MD, and the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Thomas R. Frieden, MD, jointly published an announcement of the Million Hearts Initiative in the New England Journal of Medicine(1) a couple of hours ago. They state an intention of preventing half of all heart attacks through a campaign focused on "improving management of the ABCS".'

95% of cancers don't come from this...

 http://drozwebsite.biz/about-cancer8711411.jpg

Ed. Note: There's an excellent inexpensive preventative tip in this article.

'Big Pharma pushes this "genetics" garbage down your throat so you think it's all out of your control. Your mother had cancer, so now you're "high-risk" to get it too.

Remember, this theory is no accident. It's all part of the "mainstream machine." And it helps keep a lot of people employed and lines a lot of pockets. Just think of all the trips to the doctor, the blood lab, and the radiologist for one person considered "high risk." No wonder your insurance bill spirals out of control! But the truth is, genetics has nothing to do with 95 percent of cancers!'

Big Pharma's Latest Shady Ploy to Sell Depression Drugs That People May Not Need

The drug industry is coming up with ever more clever ways to pump Americans full of drugs they may not need -- and that may not even work.

'The discovery that many people with life problems or occasional bad moods would willingly dose themselves with antidepressants sailed the drug industry through the 2000s. A good chunk of the $4.5 billion a year direct-to-consumer advertising has been devoted to convincing people they don’t have problems with their job, the economy and their family, they have depression. Especially because depression can’t be diagnosed from a blood test.'

'From pharmaceutical drugs to herbal supplements, there are so many types of formulas for healing. It is important to know the make-up of the formula and how it reacts with your body in order to understand why it works for you.

We hear more and more of multiple pharmaceutical drugs either being pulled off the market or receiving warning from the FDA. From Avendia for Diabetes to the most popular asthma medications, consumers are becoming more aware of the dangers of prescription medicine.'

Can Psychedelics Make You Happier?

Research suggests that psychedelics may be better than antidepressants, which tend to dampen or suppress psychological problems without necessarily curing them.

'In the last decade, research into the effects of psychedelic drugs on consciousness has become a growing field of study in American academia. Psychologists at UCLA, Johns Hopkins Medical School and NYU, among other places, have published research showing that psychedelics can promote happiness in ordinary people, as well as alleviate depression and anxiety among the terminally ill. The positive effects of taking psilocybin Mike described are similar to many of the case descriptions contained in these studies (though no doubt none of the researchers involved would endorse his actions).

In the fall Charles Grob, a professor of psychiatry and pediatrics at the UCLA School of Medicine, published a study in the leading journal Archives of General Psychiatry finding that people with terminal stage-IV cancer reported feeling dramatically less anxiety after taking a small, measured dose of psilocybin during a carefully administered experiment. Grob and his team checked in with their subjects after three months, and then again after six months; in each case, the subjects reported more benefits as time went on.'

Scientists to Fix 'Bad' Fat by Suppressing Peptide That Regulates Memory & Learning

Crazy scientist saying, 'So what if he's lost his mind? He also lost weight!'

Scientists hope to suppress a peptide to help lose weight. So what if it causes memory loss, inability to learn, turns you into a nervous wreck, and damages your heart and blood vessels? At least you'll die thin!
'The more modern medicine tries to "fix" your body, the bigger the mess they make. The reason is often that they don't notice anything outside the little thing they're looking at. The latest example is a bunch of mad scientists at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine who think that suppressing a peptide will magically turn "bad" fat into "good" fat. The fact that the protein, called NPY, is also important in other functions, such as vasoconstriction, memory, anxiety, and learning...well, that doesn't seem to matter.'

Are Drug Ads Simply Becoming a Laughable Marketing Tool For Big Pharma?

'Drug advertisements continue to (or attempt to) convince the ill- or un- informed that they can’t live without prescription drugs, even if the risks far outweigh the benefits. The drug Stelara is an excellent example of ludicrous marketing ads which pharmaceutical companies such as Cilag AG employ to help sell poison for common skin conditions.'

From the ad voice-over:

"Stelara may lower your ability to fight infections, and increase your risk of infections. Some serious infections require hospitalization. Before starting Stelara, your doctor should test for tuberculosis. Stelara may increase your risk of cancer. Always tell your doctor if you have any sign of infection, or have had cancer. Alert your doctor of new or worsening problems, including headaches, seizures, confusion and vision problems. These may be signs of a rare potentially fatal brain condition. Serious allergic reactions can occur. Tell your doctor if you or anyone in your house needs or has recently received a vaccine. With 4 doses a year, after 2 starter doses, IT'S STELARA!" '

More Than 25% of Kids and Teens in the U.S. Take Prescription Drugs on a Regular Basis

'Gage Martindale, who is 8 years old, has been taking a blood-pressure drug since he was a toddler. "I want to be healthy, and I don't want things in my heart to go wrong," he says. And, of course, his mom is always there to check Gage's blood pressure regularly with a home monitor, and to make sure the second-grader doesn't skip a dose of his once-a-day enalapril. These days, the medicine cabinet is truly a family affair.

More than a quarter of U.S. kids and teens are taking a medication on a chronic basis, according to Medco Health Solutions Inc., the biggest U.S. pharmacy-benefit manager with around 65 million members. Nearly 7% are on two or more such drugs, based on the company's database figures for 2009.

Quitting Smoking with Big Pharma Drugs Can Be Deadly

 — Photo by Axolot under a CC license.

'The lawsuits argue that Pfizer—the world's largest pharmaceutical company, with sales of more than $60 billion this year—neglected to test Chantix adequately prior to its release, hid evidence of potentially serious side effects, and failed to sufficiently warn consumers of its risks. Pfizer counters that it "acted responsibly and appropriately at all times in connection with the development, approval, and marketing." The FDA also says it acted properly. "The agency does not feel any mistakes were made," says spokeswoman Sandy Walsh. "We can never speculate as to what may happen with a drug once it goes into widespread use after approval." '

5 out of 6 New Drugs Don't Work

'Five out of six approved prescription drugs seldom benefit patients, says a critic of the pharmacy industry. The 6th one works just because big pharma says it does.

Chloresterol-lowering statins were a conspicuous example of the drugs industry over-hyping a product to avert heart attacks, even though they could do more harm than good, said Donald Light, sociologist and professor of comparative health policy at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey, U.S.

Drug corporates hyped-up patented medicines, spent astronomical sums on getting doctors to prescribe them and underplayed serious side-effects, reports the Telegraph.'
